Royce Young was born in Memphis, Texas on Feb 25, 1938. He was a Golden Gloves Champion in high school. While working at Texas Instruments he went to the first demonstration that Allen Steen gave there. He signed up for classes in the Texans gym. That was in 1964. Royce received his black belt from Mr. Steen in 1969. In 1970 he became the Chief instructor of the Texans Karate Club and still teaches six classes a week .
He has been teaching Smart Defense seminars and Stranger Danger classes. Recently he added kickboxing classes. He is now a 9th Dan. | |
